Built to last and with maintenance free operation, we stand behind our workmanship. If anything is wrong with your product, we’ll fix it or replace it with our one-year hassle-free warranty. Our warranty covers any manufacturer defects and guarantees products will meet their rated specifications.

Warranty Coverage

This warranty is non-transferable to other people or parties and is only valid for use by the original purchaser of the product.

This warranty covers batteries and battery components effective from the date of purchase to the original purchaser to be free from defects in materials, workmanship, and failure under normal application such as: defects due to materials, failures due to manufacturing, any and all power loss. It is the sole responsibility of owner to contact Gauntlet Battery customer service to report any problems.

Our staff will interact to identify possible problems and identify procedures to test and repair the product. Alternatively, we may require the owner to ship the product back to Gauntlet Battery. Once received, a full diagnostic test will determine either to repair or replace the faulty product. If determined to make repairs, Gauntlet Battery may use operable equivalent or reconditioned, refurbished, used parts compatible with the original product. If for any reason the product is unable to be repaired or replaced the product is then issued a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number.

A new warranty will not be granted for replacement batteries and parts and does not extend the terms of the original warranty.

No employee, agent, dealer, or any other person is approved to provide any warranties on behalf of the Gauntlet Battery, not specifically described in this warranty. The remedies contained in this warranty shall be Gauntlet Battery’s sole warranty obligations.

Warranty Registration

All products must be registered in the first 30 days from the original purchase date and have an original purchase receipt to be eligible for a warranty. You may register your product on our website or by completing the registration form included with your battery and submitting it by mail. Any battery not registered in this period shall not be eligible for warranty coverage. Any warranty claim must be provided within 30 days of discovery to be eligible for warranty coverage.

Warranty Period Coverage

This product is warrantied for 3 years to the original purchaser, per the following terms: 1-year free replacement on a new or equivalent product with 2-year extension on a yearly pro-rated 33% basis of the original cost of the battery. Once a battery has been fixed or exchanged under warranty, the replacement battery only holds the balance of the warranty period from the date of the original battery purchase.

Warranty Exclusions

This warranty does not cover defects caused by normal wear and tear, manufacturing defects discovered after the warranty period, products purchased from an unapproved vendor, or any negligence other than by Gauntlet Battery. In addition, the warranty does not cover normal capacity loss or increased resistance due to battery age. Products still under warranty will be replaced at the preference of Gauntlet Battery with a comparable value product.

Commercial applications are excluded from these terms and are subject to a separate warranty policy.

Additional Warranty Exclusions

Installation

This warranty does not cover defects caused by damage incurred from improper installation i.e. unstable grounding; inappropriate isolators, fuses, breakers and disconnects; loose terminal connections; under-sized cabling; incorrect connections (series and parallel); reverse polarity connections; custom installation using aftermarket parts or tailor-made equipment using other than stock charging systems.

Environmental Damage

This warranty does not cover defects caused by external influences including: unusual physical or electrical stress such as power surges, loss of power, uncontrolled voltages and currents, system harmonics, lightning, short-circuiting electrical power supply, battery tender or similar lead/acid type maintainer (no use of lead/acid type trickle chargers), flood or water ingress damage, fire, explosion, theft, vandalism, acts of God, exposure to excessive hot or cold temperatures, freezing, operating at an average temperature exceeding 80°F over the life of the battery (as measured and logged by the battery internal data logger), accident, wreckage or damage caused by collision, damage caused during shipping, dropped or crushed product and natural disasters.

Improperly Sized

This warranty does not cover defects caused by using an inadequately sized battery for an application. When used in an undersized application it will put additional stress on the battery during startups and sudden heavy discharges. Insure the proper sizing of all components by means of recognized electrical codes and standards and assessed by qualified engineers, electricians, and installers.

Poor Maintenance

This warranty does not cover defects if the battery is not maintained in accordance with the terms of use in the User’s Guide, i.e. including, but not limited to lack of cleaning resulting in dirty or corroded terminal connections, build-up of debris, biomaterials, fuels, or chemicals on the battery exterior.

Storage Guidelines

This warranty does not cover defects caused by inappropriate storage conditions outlined in the User Guide under; Storage Guidelines, including, but not limited to storage of battery at a low or high state-of-charge, extreme temperatures and/or length of storage.

Misapplied

This warranty does not cover defects caused by utilizing battery for applications other than which it was designed and intended for including but not limited to jump starting, directly connecting to motors or regenerating power sources without suitable protection, such as anti-parallel diodes or braking resistors, voltage monitoring systems, installing with any other manufactured and/or types of batteries in the series or parallel, purposeful negligence etc.

Modified

This warranty does not cover defects if battery is disassembled, opened, altered, or repaired by someone other than an authorized agent; the Battery Management System (BMS) data logger is destroyed or altered; manufacturing date codes; safety certification numbers or serial and tracking numbers are destroyed or altered; and do-it-yourself modifications/customizations.

Over Discharging

This warranty does not cover defects due to over‐discharging. If the battery is allowed to drain below 9.8V – 10V or lower for an extended period of time it will diminish the capacity of the battery, ruins the ability to discharge high amperage and often results in batteries that won’t recharge. Parasitic drain, trickling short‐circuits and maintaining charge status are typical reasons that cause batteries to run down quickly to an over‐discharge state.

Over Charging

This warranty does not cover defects due to over‐charging. Use of non-complaint charging systems and invertors with a maximum charge voltage over 14.6V, charging processes or unregulated inductive load source that do not conform with the parameters as described in the User Guide.

Vibration

This warranty does not cover defects due to excess vibration i.e. including, but not limited to those caused by operating heavy equipment or by extreme external forces.

End of Life

This warranty does not cover a battery that’s reached its normal end of service, due to usage which may happen before the warranty period is over. Extreme use and multiple cycles per day will drastically decrease the life of a battery. An evaluation of the battery to calculate cycle count will determine if the battery is at its end of service. If so, this would negate a warranty claim even if within the warranty period.

Non-Warranty Repairs

If outside of the warranty period, customers may still contact Gauntlet Battery for battery repairs. We will advise the owner of the costs to carry out any repairs necessary and the customer will be subject to an hourly repair charge plus parts and shipping.

Non-allied Warranties

All third-party products will not be covered by Gauntlet Battery’s limited material and workmanship warranty. However, Gauntlet Battery will guarantee parts sold to be free of defects for 30 days after purchase. Beyond 30 days, standard manufacturer’s warranty applies and shall be directed to the original manufacturer, if applicable.

Also, distributors and dealers can offer warranty extensions at their own discretion. Gauntlet Battery is not responsible for any third party warranty extensions.

Shipping

All shipment charges, insurance and any damage incurred during shipping for all returns and warranty claims is the customer’s responsibility. Any requested shipment services other than ground shipping is the owner’s obligation.

To comply with Lithium Iron Phosphate battery shipping regulations, all returns and warranty claim shipments must be sent with proper US DOT Hazardous Materials paperwork. Also US DOT requires all individuals shipping batteries to be Hazmat certified and Gauntlet Battery will not accept responsibility for improper packing, labeling, classification, or for shipments that don’t have a Dangerous Goods Shipping certificate.

This warranty shall be governed and interpreted in accordance with the laws of Washington State for dispute resolution and arbitration. This warranty is agreed to be the exclusive arrangement between the parties relating to the subject matter hereof.
